Announcements – July 21, 2024

Timbra Dye   -

CityPoint will hold a uniform drive on August 3rd from 10:00a-11:30a.

Summer is here, and Back To School time is right around the corner. Kids who attend CPS schools are required to have new uniforms on the first day of school. We’re looking to provide 100 Kids with uniforms this school year and asking for the congregation to sponsor a kiddo for only $40. This contribution ensures that every kiddo will receive the number of pants and shirts they need to start the school year off fresh. Head to our Give Page for options to Zelle or text to give, be sure to enter keyword: “Uniforms”.

Be sure to tell your friends or families who need uniforms to come by the 4338 S Prairie Ave from 10a-11:30a on Saturday Aug 3rd and get what they need, while supplies last.

Join CP’s Bible Plan & Book Club this quarter, as we read “We Are the Culture” by Arionne Nettles.

Born and raised in the Englewood community on the South Side of Chicago, Arionne Nettles shares an unbreakable bond with the city she calls home. A multifaceted individual, she is a journalist, writer, lecturer, professor, poet, and a passionate admirer of all things Chicago. Driven by the belief that everyone deserves education and the opportunity to learn, Nettles entered the sphere of education, inspired by the values instilled by her family. This same philosophy motivated her to write her book, “We Are The Culture: Black Chicago’s Influence On Everything.” (story by The Chicago Defender 4.2.24) Purchase a copy of her book online at our fave Chicago Black owned Bookstore: Semicolon.
